01/12/2020 In order to promote and inherit the Chinese tea culture and art, Washington Beijing Tongxianghui Association hosted this event specially invited some Chinese and American family members who have a strong interest in Chinese tea culture. In an enthusiastic and warm atmosphere, we began the event.
China is the birthplace of tea culture in the world. For thousands of years, China has not only accumulated a large amount of culture related to tea farming and production, but also accumulated rich spiritual culture related to tea, which is the unique tea culture of China.

Today, one of the founders of tea culture association, knowledgeable, dignified and beautiful teacher Tao
from Suzhou interpreted and preformed the tea ceremony for us.
This beautiful and gentle girl is from the famous tea town of pu-erh, Yunnan province. She is also a freshman of the University of Washington. She was our lovely translator today. Her name is Meizhi Zhao, which is as beautiful as herself.
This smiling boy, named Hao, is also from Dali, Yunnan province. He is a junior at the University of Washington. Today, he was teacher Tao’s assistant.
And our behind-the-scenes hero Ziyoudu always helped silently. Usually he was out of the camera, but every time when he was on the camera, he would give you a surprise.
Accompanied by the melodious melody of the guzheng, attentively listening to the teacher’s speech, in this way, the beautiful tea culture was going into everyone’s heart thoroughly.
Smell, jasmine tea, light and elegant, fragrance in entire room, can not help to recall a Chinese well-known song “A beautiful jasmine flower”.
Tasting, is a super wonderful feeling? Makes you feel the endless aftertaste.
As our Tea Master – Ziyoudu, he pointed out that this is peony tea immediately after a glance.
Tea Art, is the art of drinking tea, is the artistry of tasting the tea. Tea art included steps like choosing the kind of tea, preparing the tea set, pouring the water, measuring the perfect temperature, and serving the final tea. There’s a prominent literature from the Song Dynasty called “Meng Liang Lu”, one of the most famous sentences is “There are seven things to do in the morning: fuel, rice, oil, salt, soy, vinegar and tea.”, which has indicated that tea has already taken up a very significant role in people’s life, starting from the Song Dynasty.
American friends are in the appreciation of this handmade red stoneware pot from Yixing, elegant shape, fine workmanship. We used it to brew Chinese cinnamon tea. Chinese Cinnamon tea is one of the famous varieties of rock tea in Wuyi mountain. Chinese Cinnamon, also known as Yugui, was originally one of the most famous four kinds of tea in Wuyi. It was famous in the Qing dynasty. In addition to its taste of rock tea, Chinese cinnamon tea is popular for its strong and long-lasting aroma. Based on the specialists, its smell is strong, the better one with frankincense. Aroma remains long. It tastes mellow and fresh. The color of the soup is clear and yellow. The bottom of the leaves is yellow and bright. In the long years, the production of this tea is very less, in the early 1950s to bloom. In the 1980s, it’s prent throughout the country, and won people’s deep favor.
This delicate cylindrical item is a perfume cylinder diffuser from Qing Dynasty. Its fascinating perfume gives us a sense of relief, refreshment and enjoyment.
This is a beautiful tea tray that is also made from dark-red(purple) sands. Everyone in the room just really love it so much!
After the journey with the tea, everyone took a picture together. It is because of tea, we’ve got a chance to meet each other; It is because of tea, our friendship can last forever.
The first event of Washington Beijing Tongxianghui Association ended in a warm and peaceful atmosphere. Everyone learns lots of meaningful things, and still wants to know more and feel more. A cup of tea is like a life. Taste it slowly, feel it patiently, the splendidness of life is all in there. Here to give thanks and gratitude to our President Yihua Zhang to provide the space, and also to the busy-working Ziyoudu. And the last but not the least, thanks to everyone who was there with us including the teacher.
